Got my ethernet adapter a week or so ago. It works absolutely marvelous for a wifi signal..........no probs there at all. It will not power up the ethernet no matter what I do. I've tried different cat cables, I've tried to power up in different orders. (placing adapter in before powering up, and after powering up)..........I've tried stowing, unstowing........you name it. An employee of mine from work borrowed me their new adapter(they just got it and haven't tried it)...............same issue. It just will not power up the ethernet end of the adapter.................any ideas, folks???
p.s- I tried the ethernet for my Eero and tried three different laptops and an android box..............no power to any.

You ought to take part in a contest for one of the best blogs on the web. I most certainly will highly recommend this web site!

Same problem for me, the ethernet adapter has been functioning for 2 months, and now does work, and Starlink support is not very reactive. Should I ask for a router + adapter replacement ?
You've put in significant effort to resolve the ethernet adapter issue. If the problem persists across multiple devices and after trying different adapters, I recommend checking the power source, verifying compatibility, updating firmware or drivers, and contacting the manufacturer's support for further assistance.
You don't need the router or adapter. Just plug the ethernet cable into the power supply (provided with the kit) and direct to the gateway (Eero in my case). You don't get the full functionality of the App, but there's less to fuss with. I ran an extension from the power supply into the living room (repurposed and configured for RJ-45 ethernet Dishy 1 cable). The neat thing is the dish and power supply can get very cold without a problem. My garage drops below freezing in the winter. The router doesn't like the cold. If backup power is a concern, then a small UPS with a heater plugged into the non UPS port will keep everything warm enough until the generator kicks in. Size the UPS appropriately if it takes a while to get power going. Mine switches over in 7 seconds so no issue with a small UPS. UPS prevents Dishy reboot, connection, etc. Thermostat outlet to power a 80-150 watt heater is found at any Home Depot etc. I use a DIN rail heater available on Amazon.
I just got an ethernet adapter in the mail.
I didn't want to order one at first, because I think the price is outrageous (even a $20 raspberry pi has a built-in RJ-45 port) and the device should have come with one built in, just like any decent network equipment.
It seems to work as the leds on my switch start blinking when I plug in the appropriate cable.
The lack of documentation is another hurdle with this product, but I'll figure it out, I guess
Having same / similar problem to many of you... received Gen 2 Starlink (surprise - no ethernet port!)... bought the adapater, and ethernet end of adapter was dead. Spent hours researching / troubleshooting to no avail. Submitted help tickets and finally got Starlink to agree to replace the adapter... BUT that shipment has been in "preparation" for 2 months... two weeks ago they said the DHL label had been created and it was just awaiting pickup - but it still has not shipped (no tracking #).
In my desperation, I bought another ethernet adapter via Amazon for $75 (incl. shipping / fees to Chile) and it arrived in 5 days. Tried connecting it, and had the same exact problem as the first - no power to the ethernet end of adapter. Tried all the troubleshooting steps again (factory reset, stow / unstow, changing cables, using bypass mode, praying and lighting candles, etc etc) - to no avail.
After trying second adapter with same exact problem of ethernet end being totally dead (but Starlink wireless working without a problem), I suspect it's a faulty router. Just wrote to Starlink to explain / request replacement router - we'll see how they respond. It's maddening because I've had this system for about 3 months now and am unable to use it as intended since I require a hardwired connection to a WAN port on a switch.
Like others, I am on my third Ethernet adapter and third router and still no ethernet now for 5 weeks. Another non-refurbished router is planned to be shipped someday…
I decided not to wait for router and use a cheap Wi-Fi extender ‘backwards’ to provide Ethernet to my Google Wi-Fi mesh from StarLink Wi-Fi. Works great. Bummed that it took me so long to think of it. Maybe StarLink will figure out the Ethernet issue someday, but I can’t wait for that. Also planning to add a dual-WAN router to plug the StarLink drop outs using a cellular modem.
