My gen 2 is on the way BUT I can no longer extend the cable as you could with gen 1 since there is no power brick that allowed you to use ethernet cable from the brick in an out location to the modem in the house. Can I put the gen 2 modem in an out building with power, use the ethernet adapter and run exterior cat 6 cable to another modem in the house? Can't come up with any other option. HELP!

Rsorder RuneScape gold Managing Miscellania
Passive Gold: Managing Miscellania
A consistent method for long-term gold income is the Managing Miscellania mini-game. Once unlocked, players can allocate gold into the kingdom’s coffers, which citizens use to RuneScape gold gather resources like herbs, fish, or logs. These resources can be collected daily and either used or sold for profit. Efficient management of the kingdom (including maintaining high approval ratings) maximizes returns, making this a reliable passive gold-making strategy. It also serves as a clever gold sink, subtly balancing the in-game economy.
Hero Pass: Cosmetic Rewards, Not Cash Flow
In 2023, RuneScape introduced the Hero Pass, a battle pass system with both free and premium tracks. While this system doesn't directly generate gold, it offers experience boosts and cosmetic items. Some of these rewards, especially the rare or exclusive ones, can sometimes be traded or have indirect gold value through market influence. However, the primary value lies in aesthetics and progression rather than direct gold acquisition.
Community and Charity: Giving for a Cause
While not a gold-making method per se, RuneScape features the Well of Goodwill, where players can donate gold for charity. Jagex matches these donations with real-world currency contributions to charitable organizations. While you won’t profit financially, participating in these initiatives supports community bonding and gives purpose to surplus wealth, especially for OSRS GP for sale high-level players.
Keep an Eye on Seasonal Rewards
RuneScape frequently runs seasonal events and holiday updates that offer temporary quests, unique rewards, and community goals. These events often include items that can be stored for future resale, helping players build wealth through smart timing and market awareness. Logging in regularly to participate in such events is a key strategy for gold accumulation.
My Gen 2 is on the way, BUT I can no longer extend the cable like I could with Gen 1, since there's no power brick that allowed an Ethernet connection from the brick (outdoor) to the modem inside. Can I place the Gen 2 modem in an outbuilding with power, use the Ethernet adapter, and run an exterior Cat 6 cable to another modem in the house? I can't think of any other option. HELP!"
Yes, you can place the Gen 2 modem in an outbuilding with power and use the Ethernet adapter to run an exterior Cat 6 cable to another router or switch inside your house. Just make sure the Ethernet cable is rated for outdoor use to protect it from weather conditions. Also, depending on the distance, you may need a powered Ethernet extender if you're going beyond 100 meters (328 feet). Another option is a wireless point-to-point bridge if running cable is too challenging. Hope that helps!
Hi, so I’m interested in purchasing Starlink. I’m having a hard time maneuvering this site. It doesn’t give me a choice of which system I want. Do you get the most recent one? Or is there a choice? Also does “everything” come with It? The mesh router says optional. For those in rural areas do you think the mesh really worth purchasing?? I don’t wanna have to go back reorder again. Thanks so much everyone in advance. Old woman trying to use hi-tech technology!
thanks a lot
Extended Connectivity: Elevate your Starlink experience with our 75ft Cable Extension & Repair Kit, allowing you to extend your connectivity up to 225ft for optimal placement. They will work as separate, independent systems. The Starlink Mesh feature will not be available. This means that each router/antenna pair will be isolated, and data will not be shared among Core Ball routers on the internal connect a 3rd party router or mesh system, you will need to purchase the Ethernet Adapter from the Starlink Shop to allow for a wired connection to the network. Bypass mode can be enabled via the Starlink app under "Settings". Bypass mode will completely disable the built-in Starlink WiFi router functionality.

I just got my starlink Hardware- how do you k kw whether you have a gen 1 or gen 2?
Can anyone help me find out how to find my account on starlink. Can not singin to it
How do i get my account info from them
Is cat6a cable not poe compatable with the starlink system? I have about 200ft to go to get out of the trees and will give cat6 a try, what do you think?
I recently sent a request to purchase a starlink internet satellite dish this was done on December 19th i have yet to receive an e mail to receive further instructions .Does it usually takes this long to answer ?
As a follow-up: I did reach out to Starlink Support (if that is such a thing) before I completed my order to ask if I could simply swap the 150' cable vs the 75' cable and pay the difference. NO reply
Hi there,
I have read a few threads along this vein but not sure if I got a clear answer so I will describe my scenario.
I have ordered, and will soon receive, my Starlight kit ( with rectangular dish). The kit includes the 75 foot cable.
I plan to mount the dish on a pole on my property that is approx 150 feet from the utility room in the house where the router will be located.
I can get inside the house (via conduit) for the first 50 feet but will well short of the utility room.
So, the 75 foot cable for the kit will not work in this scenario.
I have extra (un-committed) Cat5 cables running from the pole into the utility room.
Here is question #1: Is the Starlink cable compatible with Cat5?
Question #2: Can I cut the Starlink cable and connect it to the Cat5 and then reconnect the Starlink cable on the other end of the Cat5 line - near the location of the router?
In other words, can I add 75 feet of Cat5 line in the middle of a Starlink &75') cable and it would still work?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Terry
Has anyone tried to connect two starlink cables together using their Ethernet adapter - use a short cat 6 to connect the two without having to splice, etc
thanks
It isnt hard to standardize it with the right pin config from one of these McCown 800-GIGE-POE. ISP Supplies is a good source for that. Or a dishypowa that is pre set just for it. And use a REOLINK Power Adapter, 52V 2.88A found on amazon to power it.
Ukraine need starlinks
Greetings everyone,
We are just switching over to the Starlink system (in progress) and the best location for the dish has turned out to be a clearing approximately 270 feet from where the modem will be located in the house. My question then is about appropriate cable length, connections and such. What to use/where to buy? I can do it but am wondering about the "factory vs aftermarket" materials. We are located on the coast of BC. appreciate any advice,
Thanks
Steve
Hello everyone. I suggest you check out this web site. My company sells and deploys this tech all over the place where needs for extra long POE, and data runs are needed. If you think this might work for extended runs, let’s give it a try. This is commercial grade gear. I think should be affordable for this application (if it would work). Engineers, let me know what you think.

I ended up putting the router and ethernet adapter in a drywall bucket halfway to the dishy. I ran an AC extension cord and a Cat6 cable to the bucket as well. The Cat6 cable connects to the Asus RT- AX3000 router in my home network. This is a temporary move while waiting for my 150 ft cable from Starlink. It works fine.
Along this same note:
Has anyone thought of/tried cutting the supplied "proprietary ended" cable and connecting it back together with couplers and cat6 cable??
Just got my Gen2 in and setup this weekend. Where I want to put the dish and where I need the router to be, I already have cat6 wire. I was wondering if I could cut the cable that came with it and couple it back together instead of trying to feed it through a wall, a ceiling, an attic and another wall. I have cat6 already run from the attic space to where the router needs to be and it would be SOOO much easier if I could do that.
Has anyone tried this yet with the Gen2?
Thanks for any input!!
Nice, you will be very happy that is a good router. your most welcome.
I went with the TP-Link AX1800.... Thanks for your help Kelly...
Ron
Hello Ron, we have done this a number of times now and had success with TP-Link, Linksys, D-Link and Ubiquiti. We haven't done a Netgear router yet (I do have one in my truck that has been waiting for hook-up) I think you will be just fine, I have seen others set them up and claim they work fine and they are a major brand. My only suggestion is to maybe think of upgrading to an AX router instead of AC but this is really dependent on your situation as the AC routers are still really good. AX routers just deliver better bandwidth and connectivity.
I purchased the Ethernet Adapter and picked up some CAT 7 cable. I'm gonna use the StarLink Router in my house and add a WiFi Router in my workshop/office...
Any recommendation for a WiFi Router that I can connect to the other end of the Ethernet cable?? I'm looking at a NETGEAR AC1200 from Amazon..
Thanks, Ron
Either cable will work just fine at that length.
Either cable will work just fine then!
Probably need about 150 ft between the Starlink router and mine.
Cat6 yes, but Cat5 will work to. The most important thing is that it is outside/burial cable. It will protect much better and last longer in the elements. How long do you think the cable needs to be?
Thanks, don't know why they had to make the cable proprietary. I live in the woods! Do you recommend cat 6? Don't know what it comes with.
Hello Bruce, you can definitely do that. There is a bridge mode on The Gen 2 router allowing you to run another network system/router. You have nothing to worry about:)
