When I ordered my Starlink I assumed wrongly that it would be like Comcast insofar as I would be billed upon hookup. Well my house won't be done for like 3 months and I hate throwing $110 x at least three out the window. Is there a work around???

Curious if you ever got this resolved. I am dealing with this now. I paid for the equipment and received an email stating it was shipped on January 3. I have still not received my equipment but have already been billed for service. I have sent multiple messages to customer support (the only way I have found to contact them) but have never been contacted back. When I track The shipment, it just says label created. It has been that way since Jan 3. HELP!
I had the same issue which was particularly vexing since the accessories I needed to light it up were delayed (post adapter, ethernet adapter, 150' cable) I was able to light it up after 6 weeks once I got the ethernet adapter. But I did have to pay for a month and a half before I could activate. Irritating. Also, I'm still waiting for the longer cable, so I have the router in a drywall bucket half way. I ran power and CAT6 to the bucket, so it works, but still irritating. I ordered the stuff on February 20th and still don't have the cable. Its been pushed off again to mid-may.
Well I guess I have no choice but to cancel and hope when I am ready to start so will Starlink be. Maybe someone will read this and have a better solution.
Hey Randy, your correct....I found this on the Starlink site.
So your billing starts 14 days after the shipping date, that date also becomes your monthly pay date as well. They do send out a notification that the payment is coming out in a week before, I've gotten one regularly for over a year now, one thing that stays consistent:)
Hi Kelly,
I think some further clarification is needed. I read on the official Starlink site that upon receiving my hardware that billing would commence and to stop it I had to cancel my order.
Hello Randy, so they started billing you before you activated the system? it is my understanding that they don't start billing until you activate...regardless you have received a bill already and your not using the system. I don't know of anybody who has gone through this so I'm just looking to see what I can find for you.
One option would be to cancel your subscription and keep your equipment and reactivate once ready. Starlink does allow you to do this but if your service area is filled up then you won't be able to reactivate there...so not ideal.
Another option would be to contact Starllink and tell them that your not activating for another few months and maybe they'll hold your spot in your service area and not bill you, seems unlikely but worth a try, the squeaky wheel gets the grease...I'll keep checking in to this and see if I can find someone else who has run into this issue.
