I'm using Starlink RV and am planning on using the router outside. Has anyone else done this? My thought is to install it in a weather proof plastic enclosure mounted on a small stand, routing the cables up from the bottom to avoid moisture.
Two reasons: 1) I do not have an easy way to route the cable from Dishy to the router inside the RV (although I could find a way, if absolutely necessary. 2) I mainly use the wifi while outside the RV at the campsite itself.
I thought I'd upload pictures of the external enclosure. (11.8"x7.9"x6.7")

Thank you for this information. I'm glad to see that I'm on the right track providing extra coverage for the router. Also, I saw the warnings on this site about how "fragile" the connectors appear to be. I was thinking of building a small, clamp on protector for the end as I will need to plug and unplug it from the router while transporting to and from RV locations.
Hello Alan, welcome to the community! You should be fine installing the router outside, especially if your planning on building an enclosure around it. The Starlink Gen 2 system also has water resistant connections and a better IP54 rating for better protection and temperature handling. The real challenge will be to try and be as gentle as possible with the connections, there not really the most robust. So keeping them clean and protected while transporting will be paramount, maybe even ordering an extra for back up in case something happens by accident. Hope this helps!
